Extreme Conservative Texas School Bans Skinny Jeans

Skinny jeans banned in Texas middle schoolDon't even think about wearing those skinny jeans to school, at least not at Kimbrough Middle School in Mesquite, Texas.

The extreme conservative texas school is calling their fashion police on anyone caught wearing the skin tight pants, and that also include, stovepipes, and jeggings.

Seth Chamlee, a student at Kimbrough Middle School in Mesquite, got a hard dose of reality Tuesday morning when school administrators ordered him to  trade his skin-tight skinny pants for slacks provided by the school or go home. His mother, Cindy Pope was highly disgusted by the school's ultimatum and pulled him out for home schooling instead.

Other school districts around Mesquite don't see a problem with skinny jeans but, regardless Kimbrough Middle School sets their own rules and expect them to be followed religiously. The district, which boasts one of North Texas’ most conservative dress codes, for the first tie this year gave female teachers permission to wear open-toed shoes and male teachers the right to grow facial hair.

“We don’t allow striped shirts or check shirts,” said Laura Jobe, a district spokeswoman. “There are certain types of clothes that are not acceptable dress style.”

It doesn't seem there'll be any fashion trend-setters in this school anytime soon, as the state gives all school districts the right to set their own individual dress codes, no matter how strict.

One things for sure, the Mesquite school district has been strict and tight on dress standards since the 1960's and has not eased up any since. In fact they've only gotten more strict as students sport the latest and hottest body revealing trends in fashion.

What the hell??? I dont think this should even be legal!! To tell kids that they cant wear skinny jeans?!?! If i were to be in that school i would somehow force them to pay for my clothing seeing as i dont own a single pair of jeans that are not "skinny".i find it amazing that most people these days are either taking fashion trends way over the edge, (i.e. skirts that show your butt, see through shirts with no bras ect..) or trying to take away our freedom of expression through clothing choices. when i was in school i wore hoodies baggy shorts and flip-flops. i was just a girl in band...but hearing that if i were to wear thoes same clothes in a high school today, i would be repremanded?!?!?! its just insane. if i were in a situation like this i would ssooo pro-test. there is nothing & noone that can take away ANY of my freedoms... nah...this is pure bull. and needs to be stoped before they ban wearing anything that has color or something else that would be just out right impossible to follow.

This is one of the most ridiculous bans at any school. When will people stop wasting so much time and effort into fighting harmless young people trends.

This Kimbrough Middle School ban on harmless teen fashion is so archaic. People need to grow up and stop letting outdated religious beliefs cloud their common sense.

I've looking for this article of skinny jeans banned from schools for a while. I heard about it but didn't believe it. Who in their right mind can have a beef with skinny jeans. They're jeans for crying out loud. Get a grip you old backwards people. Better yet get a fashion sense.

Wow this place is as strict as some of those middle east and old school European countries. Everyone thinks america is all freedom and debauchery, but the reality is, most of the country especially the bible belt is full of hardcore and extreme religious people. They're beyond conservative. They're just as strict as the Amish. Fashion doesn't have a chance in these places. Loosen up people and stop being so uptight about everything.
