A college degree is by far the number one requirement by employers for hiring new people. My cousin does hazardous waste management for a company in Queens and that didn't require a college degree. He had to go through a testing and training process for a few weeks though before he could get certified. he loves the job and it pays really well even without his bachelors degree. Those jobs that pay well without a degree are out there, you just have to look for them.

Hey don't forget about bartending. Many college students do that part-time and aspiring young actors and actresses do it too. Getting a bartending license is easy. It pays good money until you find something else that you wanna do like starting your own business.
