James Cameron's Avatar Surpasses $1 billion mark worldwideJames Cameron has done it again, this time with  science-fiction movie "Avatar" hitting the billion dollar movie mark worldwide in its short time of release.

"Avatar" has become the reigning juggernaut of movies, as a result of  a massive multi-million dollar promotional campaign, stunning movie reviews, and moviegoers' good word of mouth.. It's made millions domestically and shot  past $1 billion worldwide, being the fifth blockbuster to achieve that. Cameron's  film Titanic also hit that mark  in it's 1997 mega-release, and went on to gross $1.8 billion worldwide.

Bert Livingston said, "It's like a runaway freight train. It just keeps doing business." Its results like this thats making Livingston and other 20th Century Fox executives laugh straight to the bank.

James Cameron now stand as only filmmaker with two billion dollar movies under his belt. "Avatar" is now close to beating out the previous holder of top grossing movies worldwide, and that record holder being "Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King."

It seems evryone wants to see Avatar, and Cameron has a lot to smile about now that it reigns supreme at the box office. Also with the movie holiday season now passed, there are no major competitors to deal with, leaving "Avatar" with even more breathing room to rack up millions more going into the Oscars season.

It took over ten years for a movie to beat titanic's record profit. Avatar did it so easily, holy [*****] this movie is simply unbelievable. I wonder which movie will be the next big thing to break this record.

Yo they should take some of that Avatar money and donate it to a Haiti relief charity, they've got more than enough.

I've already seen it twice, and can't wait for the DVD. Nothing beat the theater experience though in 3D. I'm not surprise its already beaten Titanic to become the biggest grossing movie of all time.

Avatar is by far the most awesome movie I've ever seen. Besides the special effects, the actual story was like nothing I've seen in any recent movies. Thumbs up to James Cameron on this one.
