Kanye West's Fame Kills tour is dead. Officilly announced by Live Nation concert promoters on Oct. 1, just two weeks after it was announced.
Neither Live Nation concert promoters or anyone from West's camp have given any reasons for the cancellation, but many are speculating it could have something to do with his previous revelation on the Jay Leno show that he needed "to take some time off" after the embarrassing stunt he pulled off against Taylor Swift at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.
The Fame Kills 34 show tour across the United States and Canada which features new pop sensation Lady Gaga would have started next month, but Live Nation has said it would refund all sold tickets to concertgoers. This is a disappointment to many but not really a shock. Kanye West also previously told Jay Leno that "I deal with hurt and, you know, so many, you know, celebrities, they never take the time off, and I've never taken the time off to really, you know, I just, music after music and tour after tour on tour,".
Well Kanye, it seems now is as better a time than any to get that well deserved time off to reflect, and get your act together. I don't think anyone will argue with that. Hope this isn't a major blow for Lady Gaga, I'm sure she'll rebound quickly from this.
