New Rihanna Tattoo Is Inked Backwards

Rihanna has one upped Miley Cyrus' tattoo with some new ink of her own. Inspired by her personal motto, RiRi had the phrase "Never a failure, always a lesson" tattooed just below her right clavicle. From now on, each time Rihanna looks in the mirror she'll be reminded that there's a lesson to be learned in every mistake.
The platinum selling singer got the unique expresion inked on Monday night at her favorite NYC tattoo parlor, East Side Ink . Rihanna told the tattoo artist to write the motto backward so she could read it in a mirror, and to do it in gray ink instead of black so it wouldn't draw too much attention.
In an interview with OK Magazine, the tattoo artist, who is also the owner of East Side Ink, Keith "Bang Bang" McCurdy said that Rihanna explained the tattoo to him: "I asked her why she wanted that, and she said, 'It's kind of my motto in life for everything' instead of considering things to be mistakes, considering them lessons."
A lesson indeed, as Rihanna has learned a great deal this year from an abusive relationship, and has had to grow up much faster than she anticipated.
The new tattoo and its meaning seems be garnering much thumbs up from diehard Rihanna fans.
