Rihanna Goes Shirtless For GQ As New Video Debuts

Rihanna goes shirtless on GQ Magazine December 2009 issueRihanna has figured out the best way to close out 2009 and ring in the new year with the shirt of her back, literally!!. On the December cover of GQ Magazine, RiRi is wearing no shirt, no bra, nothing, just her hands covering her chest.  She looks flawless as usual but I guess this is how you increse album sales when the numbers aren't as impressive as previous albums.

Rihanna's has not been coy about wanting to explore her artistic and creative side more, and that includes expressing herself visually without inhibitions in the bounderies of censorship.

Since her split from an abusive relationship with Chris Brown she's been wearing  less and less in videos and photoshoots. Italian vogue featured her topless already, but that a European culture where toplessness on public beaches is readily accepted.

She wore Mickey Mouse ears and a bullet vest in the preview for her upcoming video, "Hard." Rihanna's new sexual fredom is definitely making heads turn and it seems to be translating into more money for the young pop singer and fashion trendsetter.

She recently told The New York Times that it upset her how her record label held her and her image back:

“In the beginning, everything was a little more manufactured. It had to be safe, and in order for it to be safe, it had to be done before, which made no sense to me. I was like, ‘What do you mean, I can’t cut my hair? It has to be long and blond, like every other female singer in the game? No, I’m not doing that.'"

So basically Rihanna has found her artistic and sexual freedom and there's no turning back.

Rihanna is one brave girl. But stuff like this gets attention and sell real well for the magazines and her albums I'm assuming. Who can complain, the girl is beautiful.

Now this is some real girl power. I love RiRi. She's got the body, she's got the talent, she's got the style, and she's brave as hell after that douche Chris Brown almost pummeled her to death. My hats off to you Rihanna for doing this cover, you're brave girl.
