Tiger Woods Breaks Silence About Car Crash But Doesn't Address Alleged Affair

Tiger Woods canceled his third meeting for questions from Florida state troopers on Sunday, and breaks his silence with a statement posted to his website. Woods said the car crash was his fault, but didn't to address the rumors and questions about the crash that hospitalized him.
“The only person responsible for the accident is me,” Woods said. “My wife, Elin, acted courageously when she saw I was hurt and in trouble. She was the first person to help me. Any other assertion is absolutely false.”
Woods said in his statement, “This situation is my fault, and it’s obviously embarrassing to my family and me,”... “I’m human and I’m not perfect. I will certainly make sure this doesn’t happen again.” Woods also wanted to keep the situation private.
“Although I understand there is curiosity, the many false, unfounded and malicious rumors that are currently circulating about my family and me are irresponsible.”
The statement was posted about an hour prior to a scheduled meeting between he and state troopers. That meeting has now been officially canceled and has not been rescheduled.
The 911 tape of a neighbor's call after the accident was released Sunday. The neighbor told dispatchers that a black Cadillac Escalade hit a tree and “I have someone down in front of my house.”
“I came out here just to see what was going on,” the neighbor, who was not identified, told dispatchers. “I see him, and he’s laying down.” In the background of the call, a woman is heard yelling, “What happened?”
Woods’ attorney, Mark Nejame, informed the Florida Highway Patrol that Woods would not be meeting with troopers Sunday afternoon.
