Wall Street 2 Money Never SleepsThe original Wall Street movie in 1987 was a smash hit. The most memorable line from Michael Douglas' character pretty much summed up capitalist fat cats of that time. "Greed for lack of a better word, is good." That phrase would be cemented in pop culture for the next 20 years, but will "Wall Street 2" the new sequel capture the true greed of today's sinister big banks?

Here we are today, every time the media covers Wall Street corruption, that phrase always gets mentioned. It seems so fitting also  with the near collapse of the US economy into a recession, mainly due to big financial firms greedy and selfish decisions.

With news of the sequel 'Wall Street 2 - Money Never Sleeps' currently in production, no doubt many are looking to see if it will live up to the original. The once sinister Gordon Gekko is back, and it looks like Shia LeBeauf is the new guy involved with him. Charlie Sheen did a pretty good job in the original as Gekko's sidekick turned adversary. He makes a cameo in the new flick.

This movie covers the current state of Wall Street, and Gekko's out of jail, but somewhat reformed, so my hopes of the old ruthless wall street banker might be shot.  He got his hands in things money related again with Shia LaBeauf. It doesn't look like he's more stone cold and heartless in this sequel.  Too bad, since that would really go well with the image of today's big banking CEO's and Wall Street firms.

Will Gekko also have a memorable signature line in this movie? I hope so, any good movie has to have that unforgettable scene or unbelievable catch phrase.  There was  a still image from the new movie, where Gordon Gekko is speaking to Donald Trump. I don't know what thats about, but if Trump makes a cameo, it has to be a good film, he doesn't put his name on anything thats not a hit or big money maker. I'm sure the movie reviews will show tell whether it's a hit a or miss. The original's always pretty hard to live up to.
