NBA Star Allen Iverson Wants to Retire in Glory, But No One Cares

Allen Iverson wants to retire glorious and return, but no one caresOnce a force to be reckoned with in the NBA, Allen Iverson known as "The Answer" has become second place in the eyes of NBA team owners and coaches. The NBA star wants to retire in glory, but no one cares.

He  recently announced that he plans to retire and wants to go out on his terms leaving the door open for the possibility of returning as a starting player. The problem here is that team owners and coaches at the top refuse to give in to his request to be a starting player at age 34, if he returns.

"I still have tremendous love for the game, the desire to play, and a whole lot left in my tank,'' he was quoted in a statement released to Stephen A. Smith. "I feel strongly that I can still compete at the highest level.''

Iverson is using this announcement to hint to the NBA and fans that he's flexible to make a comeback at anytime. He can come back but league owners are refusing to take him back on his terms.

Iverson could come back to the NBA with two stipulations.

1. If a starting guard gets injured on a team is desperate for a backup. If that happens in an emergency, he would most likely get back in on his terms.

2 . Iverson would have to come off the bench for the right NBA team, especially a contending franchise. In which case, he might get his job back for a team that could use a quick point boost per game from a reliable sixth man.

Unless somebody opens up an emergency starting lineup spot, Iverson isn't likely to come back unless he's willing to compromise with team owners. Egos and demands run high in the NBA and Iverson just might have to lower his to get some of his request met.
